An existing customer on channel

An activation request has to be sent to Bookit. When sending the request, please provide the channel manager (MCM, SHO etc), the Bookit hotel ID and the date of activation (if not immediate). After this Bookit will coordinate with the hotel to get an XML agreement signed by the hotel. When this has been signed Bookit will send credentials.

A new customer on channel

The hotel needs to contact Bookit. From there the web services team will pick up the request and contact the channel manager if desired.

Switches are done very quickly, however, when scheduled the date is confirmed.


Who provides what

The XML credentials are pre-defined. Please request these credentials from the SmartHOTEL support team.

Only the ‘PIN’ is different as equal to the Pin-code (hotel code) provided by Bookit.



No special settings required

Only for packages, separate rooms are created by Bookit for which virtual rooms need to be created in the channel manager.


Please note that boarding type in the rate code needs to be set up correctly in order to be able to create messages.


Multiple rate setup is possible.


Bookit sends extra charges, like pets or city tax as a service. In order to show these services correct on the pdf file, please set up the necessary services and link them to Bookit services.

And link this service to the OTA.

Bookable until?

Technically the rates and availability can be sent for unlimited time however on the front side only 6 months in the future are visible.

Reservations Pick up/ Push cycle?

Reservations are picked up every 10 minutes


  • All reservations are pre-paid, no credit card details are provided to the hotel.
  • Bookit always sends a modification when a reservation is paid via IDEAL.
    Sometimes it happens that no original reservation is transmitted via the channel manager, but the first reservation that is received is a modification. The reason for this is that the reservation is paid with an ideal payment very shortly after the original reservation was sent. Both the original reservation and modification of the reservation will be picked up in the same reservation cycles and therefore only the last reservation will be taken into account.
  • When there are requests attached to a reservation the reservation will be delivered with a delay to SmartHOTEL since the comments need to be approved by Bookit.
